Made from (I believe) Hawthorne It is 5” tall and 4 1/2” across. Decided to turn this after seeing someone else turn one on another forum and remembered that I had just the right piece of trunk laying about.
Did not notice the face winking at me until I looked at the photo I took

G’Day Derek,
I think I like this one more than the other, it’s got a heap of character with all the figure, very well done.

Your project is a classic example of woodworking….you begin with an idea in mind and when you’re finished, it’s not only a nice project, but it has turned into much more than you ever envisioned. Makes me want to go to my log pile!!

I am just amazed at how you can turn this without breaking it! I have much to learn about turning. Well done!

Stunning piece! Like the shape and the wood especially the interesting patterns. It has so much character. Great turning!
