If you have any interest, take a look at this bench’s predecessor in my “Projects”.
That one was just too big for my garage-shop in our new home.
So I built this one to be used ONLY as a tool bench
I also built a new work bench with lots of neat stuff for a small-ish shop Not bragging, but I think the new work bench (I will post photos tomorrow) is way cool. Perfect size, perfect height, drawers in all the right places, wood vice, VERY inexpensive, not time consuming to build……. Well, I love it.
You will notice that I retained the cord storage feature that I had on the big old bench, but ditched the cubby-holes. The cubby holes took up too much shelf space.. I hate cords……….they never store easy…….. so I also love this feature.
I recessed the top shelf (for the tools) about 4 inches so the cords would hang easily and not be crowded or intertwined.
Lastly, I am an old guy and really liking my shop that I treated myself to.
I gave all my Craftsman stuff to my sons (which had served me faithfully and well for decades and will do the same for them), and decided to treat myself to a Unisaw, BIG dust collection, tricked out Router Table, primo SCMS, big Delta planer, etc.
I have no tools that I don’t use………..and I have no tools that I need or want (hard to say for a tool junkie).
I also “stole” ideas, “how-to’s” etc actively, often and unrepentantly from other LJ’s.
I love my shop. Nothing that I can’t live with or without…..easily. (Needs more lighting).
(Best of all……….Wife is happy for me)
As I said above I will post photos of the different aspects of the shop……… especially if encouraged to do so. I think some of the stuff I did is kinda cool.
I am also WAY behind on posting projects.
