—Red oak table/bench—

It is a table saw mortise design I liked. It is a very small for a coffee table but I wanted a lot of room to move around in my room. it is strong enough to double as a bench incase I have to many guests for the couch.

It was supposed to be 1 inch verticals and 3/4 inch horizontals but I got tired of planning the wood and it is 1/4 inch thicker then the original specs all around. It is therefore one very solid heavy piece of furniture. It was supposed to be glued screwed together but I put in some hidden pegs and now there is no glue on the finished product except the to join the boards together. I guess I could theoretically take it apart like Ikea furniture on steroids.

Thanks for looking.

Looks great. Is that from the Woodsmith plan?

Yes it was woodsmith. For a coffee table ‘next time’ I would make it a bit shorter(2 inches) and a bit (4 inches) wider.

Great looking and practical table! Like the design that can be used also as a bench if needed. It even matches the sofa. Well done!
