Well we had a big day today. Got the membrane on one side and the 2 layers of styrofoam plus the firring strips
We also got a bit done on the other side as well. If things go good tomorrow we should have the roof tight at last. Lost lots of time to the rain.
Feet are killing me tonite. Very hard working on a 8/12 pitch.
Here are the pictures

Wow, you are really going fancy there aren’t you. I’ll bet you’ll love it when it’s done though so don’t let your feet slow you down :) How big is it LxW and square foot wise?

8 in 12 pitch? I guess it would get to your back as well! I am most definitely looking forward to your next update.

Split those bundles in 3’s if you can.
That should bring them down to about 25 lbs a carry.
At 8/12 your legs will thank you when you sleep.
Besides, running a full bundle up to the roof and then having to distribute them is pure folly.
Looking good.
Is that enough insulation?

That weather looks grim Quebecnewf. Just as well you have something on the roof.

The new shop is comming along niceley – I second Bob’s comment about the insulation – we use about 400mm in the roof here and I guess the outside temperatures are about the same for both of us Nov to Mar -10° to -30° C

The R value of the roof will be approx 25 to 30 Not as high as it should be really for this area. That being said I will be running a reefer unit in the small shed attached to the shop. This section will be a cooler room and a freezer room for my busineess. I operate a general store as my full time job.
These units produce a lot of heat . I will pump this heat into the shop and during most of the year will probally have an excess of heat. During the dead of winter months Jan/Feb i will keep the temp in the shop just above freezing as I do not do a lot of woodworking during those months ( in the woods cuttiing logs).
I will have secondary heating in the shop( electric to maintain a above freezing temp0 and a wood stove to burn when i want it real cozy. I also have an unlimited supply of slabs from my sawmill in fact most of the time I give away at least half of the slabs I produce and this is after I heat my house my fathers house and my brothers house with them. Needless to say wood is not a problem. Did I mention that my general store produces enough empty cardboard boxes to heat the shed .

I am with you here I did a 8/12 pitch on my shop, though it is not as large as yours. I put almost all of the decking up myself, man did my feet and knees hurt at the end of the day. My decking has radiant barrier, and man it already makes a difference, even though I haven’t insulated the inside yet.
