Horse head carved from Basswood. Mounted on a scrap piece of padauk and maple. I used hand tools and sandpaper. Finished with shelac.

great looking carving. It looks great. I especially like the detail in the mane. I also like the way you have mounted it with the two offset contrasting boards. It all adds up to a very nice carving.

It started out as the head for a rocking horse I was going to build for my newborn. I threw in the towel after about 2 weeks of not being happy with how the body was coming out. The head took about 5 hours of work
