Here is another popular box that I do well with, I changed these up by using wenge instead of walnut for the dark wood, I make these so that the grain runs vertical instead of horizontal so as to hide the entry points, these measure 5 1/2” x 5 1/2” x 3 1/2” and are finished with a single coat of tung oil and several coats of wipe on poly with a final coat of paste wax.

Randy,

I think you have mastered the band saw box! And I like that you are expanding your horrizons…ie “thinking outside the box.” LOL! Nice work, hope they all sell at your next show!

My, my; it’s neither the quality of the saw, nor the configuration of the blade or ppi; but the artist at his work doing a superb job. You’re really an artist. Thanks for posting

Nice construction, and a beautiful finish. Only minor suggestion/idea: Maybe make the top drawer white to compliment the black bottom drawer? Just a thought. This looks like a fun project.

Art, yes I’ve taken all of this into consideration and maple has ran through my mind, the second box out of the two has more of a white tent, actually I’ve had customers that prefer the darker wood that’s the busiest, it’s just the nature of the spalted hackberry, thanks for noticing and the suggestion.

This is a wonderful design for a box. It looks really good. Congratulations.
