My parents old TV died a slow and painful death over many years, when it finally kicked the bucket I was given a budget to organise them a new one.

Since the old one was a big floor standing rear projection they had no where to put a new tv. So to keep within the budget ( which went completely on the tv) I went out the shed and hatched a plan.

When we purchased our house in the back yard the previous owners had left a log, it was from a Japanese Aspen (I think) andI had recently decided to chuck it through the bansaw ( my first log chopping experience) this had left me with a few nice thick planks of wood.

I combined this with some recycled jarrah and a bit of ply and made up the cabinet you can see.

Sorry about the crap photo. It does look much nicer in person! but the lighting in the room it was placed in left a lot to be desired for my phone camera. And since there house is in the country 250km’s away I can’t drop round to take a better one!

Great! To be able to make something that good looking from wood you had on hand is quite an accomplishment. Good job.
