These boxes have been sitting on my work bench long enough, so I decided to finish them. I got delayed making jigs. Not a bad thing. The first is quartersawn sycamore and walnut with padauk splines and inlays. It was the panel from my first maquetry attempt. The second is walnut crotch lid and walnut frame with pallet wood hinges

Holy cow! Beautiful woods, marquetry, bridle joints, and even wooden hinges. You have demonstrated a lot of woodworking skills with these!

I still don’t have a clue what that pallet wood is (but it made great hinges!)
