This is the second half of the redwood burl Robert Triplet gifted me with. Box is soft maple, splines are redwood burl, Patron hinge of Sycamore. Dimensions: 8×12x4 1/2”. Finished with rubbed on shellac and wax. Burl was inlaid using templates and my new Porter Cable Compact Router. More California woods from Robert coming up!

Another good Andy…...That is a great gift from Robert…....Seriously, do you ever sleep?? You’ve been feeding the saw well :^) Nice work.

Andy, you are good with that new toy(tool). The plain Maple shows off the Redwood very well.

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and now time to work!!!

Just got back – been gone for a while. Nice work, Andy! Yah, Andy doesn’t sleep! :-)

Still love this box design, I’m having a hard time not seeing that burl on the inside too, but if I had a plunge router everything would be inlayed lol. Great box Andy

Thanks to all of you!

While looking at the comments I thought about how many of you are responsible for my boxes:
Robert gave me the burled redwood.
Patron taught me how to do the hinges.
Blaine introduced me to air sanders.
Rance introduced me to Abranet.
Black Cherry showed me how to get the most from shellac
and on and on…..
I LOVE this site!
