Well, after way too much time, the king size bed project is complete. Red oak finished with Sherwin Williams walnut stain and top coated with 3 coast of Deft satin. I feel like it turned out pretty well, built in sections in my garage and assembled at it’s new home….....and everything fit (except 2 supports that I cut a touch too long, but a quick fix).

Thanks
joe

Did you use sketch up, a plan? I would like to try something similar.

Kevin….no plan, just determined what height we wanted and pre-purchased some baskets so the storage dimensions were based on that. I think it’s overall height is 19 – inches. Also, there is only a mattress in there, we initally put the box springs in, but you needed a step ladder to get in bed!

I want to do that too. We have a memory foam bed with a box spring, but I don’t think the box spring is needed. There so much space wasted under there. Yours looks very nice and functional.
