I am a late bloomer. After nearly 43 years I decided it was time to begin a hobby. And since woodworking was my dad’s favorite thing to do & teach, I thought I would give it a try. So I decided to make this rustic garden bench. It is made from an old pallet that I got from our church. I must not have done to bad because it turned into a fund raising effort & I wound up making 14 more of then! But more importantly, I had a lot of fun making them!

Nice garden bench, and good recycle work with the pallet wood. Now that your woodworking hobby has bloomed, keep watering it and the fun will increase with each project.

That is a really cool bench. It’s on my mental to do list. I want to make psuedo bird houses on top of the pickets. Did you have a lot of trouble dismantling the pallet? Did you use nail, glue, screws?
Thanks

Grats on attaining a great hobby, have had the same feeling starting out at 34 but certainly plenty of time left for both of us to enjoy… Your bench is great, have to say while I find the back aestically pleasing, the points make me a little concerned as I’d hate to trip near it :) Might have to mount it directly to a wooden fence/shed or the like. Happy they were a success for your church’s fundraiser etc. Thanks for sharing…

Very good job. Beautiful and useful, rustic and agreeable simultaneously. And recycling, wonderful. Congratulations
