Walnut lidded box

Very small walnut box. This is only my second turned lidded box and it was a bear to make! I still don’t get how to scoop out the middle without multiple catches. Well- I guess practice will improve that. Made of Claro walnut. Finished (off the lathe- I know – wrong!) with my usual- Danish oil, light coat of wipe-on poly and then wax. Last pic is a group of projects with a bottle for scale….you can see this walnut box if you look closely!

Excellent- like the way you were able to keep the grain lined up for consistency. Thanks for sharing the picture and your finish method.
