Japanese style lamps made using poplar and 6mm Shoiji rice paper.

Construction details:
- Lap joints and dados cut using 1/4’ down cut spiral router bit
- Table edge and round over bits using to form lid
- Entire project made from poplar reclaimed from previous project
- Finished using paste wax
- Plans from “Making Japanese Style Lamps”

I posted a blog of it’s construction here.

Very nice Shoiji lamps! I’m thinking of building one of these myself, and your blog is going to be a great help!

Sergio,

I bought the rice paper on Amazon … there are a lot of suppliers. I just looked up Shoiji paper.

I see a lot of Thai Marbled paper that is quite colorful as well … I may try that next time.

Thanks
