I made this of recycled oak (formerly a heavy equipment pallet) as the prize for the heavy weapons tournament at my reenactment group’s “White Mare’s Bones” event this past summer. No metal at all, it’s glue and peg construction and wooden hinges. The last picture shows the happy winner with his prize.
