Flowers and Vase for Mothers Day

Started with the Vase by gluing blocks of cherry with small veneer like slices of maple. Then made a 3” x 3” block out of them and put it on the lathe. I tried to shape it in a typical vase look, but I’m not sure I got there. I like it, just not the shape I started out to make. I do like how the maple zip zags all over the place.

Made the flowers on the lather too. Did the same thing with the maple. I tried to make the flowers in different stages of bloom.

Overall… I like it.. But we will see on Mothers Day when the ultimate judge deems its worth.
