I made this one for a civilian employee who was retiring after 24 years of federal service. He is a truly great guy! Didn’t want anything over-the-top so I kept it “subtly simple”. Created this out of of Sapele Mahogany and Poplar. The certificate was brought to me and I placed it in this frame and bordered it with red suede. I used the “crinkle effect to add more depth for the frame. The columns were made out of Poplar once I saw some pine wall trim and wanted to mimic that. The grain on this was absolutely beautiful and glad I used the Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner to really bring it out prior to applying two coats of poly.

Nice work, good to see the flag folded correctly. Ah the fun we had folding flags in FUN/CER detail..
