This is the end cut of of one of the mahogany post from my friend. It had several through cracks but none that effected the integrity of the blank. I mostly just turned it for practice. It didn’t turn out too bad so I kept it. I turned recesses in the top for two size candles. I also drilled a 1/2” hole almost full length so a long stem flower can be inserted.

Just a fun little project.

It is about 7”d x 4”w. It is made from mahogany and finished with salid bowl finish.

Looks like a good practice run to me. Good job.

Neat, I like the simplicity.

Thanks for the comments guys. Looks like I can’t get back to sawing wood just turning. It is infectious for sure.

Looks kind of “tippy” to be a candle holder , but nice turning just the same : )

Would have to use a short 3” candle in large ring but the small ring is for a tea candle. It’s pretty stable though.

You got that right. It will probably never have a candle in it except for a tea candle maybe. My wife won’t let me get rid of anything yet. She says she likes them all. Haaa Haaa
