I ended up buying a few of these Jr. Gentleman’s kits.

These two are Copper finish with some more of that Chokecherry Burl and a gold finish with some apple wood that came from my father’s back yard a few years back. I’m all about that fruit wood! ;-)

I tried a CA finish on the apple, topped with a bit of wax polished on the lathe to shine it up… I’m quite happy with it.

The more I do, the easier these get!

Beautiful pens, Ryno. They both are very elegant. Great photography as well. Thank you for sharing.

Nice, I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen Chokecherry used. Is it a soft wood?

both really look great.
it’s really tough to go wrong with a burl.
I really like the heartwood / sapwood contrast in the apple wood.
