Pizza Peel

Here’s the latest project out of my shop. My mother requested a pizza peel a few weeks ago and this is what was produced. Walnut, cherry, and a little bit of curly maple were used in the design (which I “borrowed” from a fellow lumberjock). To shape the lip profile I used a block plane to hog out the bulk, then followed with my ROS. Finished with a few coats of butcher block oil.

It came out a little bigger than I originally was figuring in my head. Hopefully it won’t be too unwieldy. She’s quite the chef and I’m sure it will find good use in her kitchen.

Thanks for looking!

This is too beautiful to put into an oven! Very nice and just in time for Mother’s Day!

Appreciate the kind words! Good call mmh, however the mother’s day present is under the peel in pic 3!

Very nice.
And an excellent wood combo.
I could never get a hand plane to do that nice of a job.

I agree with Steve excellent work with the plane. I also love the wood combination.

That’s a great gift idea! Very pretty and I like the shape and the wood colors. Well done!
