I’ve wanted to post these two pencil boxes, but just never got around it. The one with the deer on it was carved with a set of carving tool the Japanese elementary school students use in their “Arts and Crafts” class. Many of the students make a keepsake box as the graduate from elementary to junior high school. It has six different levels with the deepest being in the background (sunset). It is the second box I made. The other box was my first one, and it is just a plain mahogany box.
