Red Cedar from Tennessee

We have a cousin who lives near Franklin Tennessee. He asked me at Christmastime if I’d ever want some red cedar. I nodded of course… he sent a load up to me and wow, what a surprise! It was such a gorgeous wood! Its nothing like the red cedar from here in northwest Ohio. Both have that aromatic smell, but the southern wood is a soft wood. The northern is a harder wood. Both have a lot of knots, but heck, still make beautiful pieces from it!

Might incorporate this into a checker board! Something special.

The color really comes to life on the red cedar. Nice buckets!!
