Hey Jock’s hope all are well and the sawdust is flying in your shops. Today posting is a couple of boxes made with some wonderful warm tones. The Cocobolo is a great back drop for the Big Leaf Maple grain flow these two woods just sparkle together with the french polish style finish. I recently purchase a piece of 8/4 Big Leaf Maple from fellow L.J. Stockmaker which I re-saw to make six lids from so these are the first two so stay tune more to come, thanks for viewing….Blkcherry

These look awesome! Is this using some of the stuff we traded? Great work.

These are beautiful Wilson. Warm tones indeed. The darker tones in the maple are drawn out by the rich browns in the cocobolo. As always, great craftsmanship too!

Beautiful boxes. I just finished a Cocobolo and Big Leaf Maple coffee table. A very difficult combination of woods. Did you find the Cocobolo contaminating everything…especially the maple?

BC, Beautiful boxes…..the wood combo really pops and the bark/sap inclusions give them an organic feel. You have a way of giving the wood a chance to sing.

Hey BC, Those look great.
I am not a big sculpting fan, but you seem to have done a really good job here. Just subtle enough – Nice.
And the finish again is top notch.

Hey there Wilson, Great work on these boxes!!! Love the color and the flow of them. Very easy on the eyes. The wood you purchased is a real beauty! Hope all is well. I have to get to work on the bridal chest for blondie. Got side tracked welding a 14 foot gate for the drive way. Off to buy the Ipe for the gate this morning.

Look fwd to the next posts!

That’s a beautiful pair! The wood combination is just perfect. That Big Leaf maple has a lot more color than the maple we can get in my area.
