Pine Box Coffin

This is a traditional Pine Box Coffin. I made it out of completely reclaimed pine wood. Using only recycled materials. If you follow me, you know how I do things.

This was meant to be a gag gift for my brother in law. I built it while he was away at a tattoo convention in SD. He is the artist that drew on the butcher’s block. After I built the coffin I got into his place and replaced his bed with this coffin. It was a very funny idea.

After it was all said and done, he asked to keep it. I told him that I will turn it into a bookshelf. So eventuality I will create shelves to fit.

Hope you guys like this!

It would get the neighbors talking as well. Fun job.

Nice. I built w casket shaped DVD shelf. I painted it flat black, but it still feels like it’s missing something. You don’t have that problem with pine, the wood speaks for itself. Crazy coincidence… My brother is an artist/tattoo artist too.

Funny story behind a cool project! Like it. Great to put it in use as a bookshelf, very interesting.

make the bookshelves removable lid parts and save yourself a bundle of cash some day but have him sign a waiver so that in the unfortunate event, if the bottom gives way when pallbearers lift the departed up , Uncle Fester doesn’t make a scene : ))
