I cut long thin piece of wood on by table saw so I need a good push stick that I could control the wood. This push stick is made from 1/2″ hardwood plywood and is about a 14″ long and 8″ wide (from the bottom to top of the handle) the front section is about 2 ¼”. The heal has an adjustable hook that is 5/8” x 1/8”. The handle has ¼” maple laminated on each side to make it more comfortable. The bottom of the push stick has sand paper glued to it. The angle of the handle help to applying downward pressure as well as pushing pressure. This push stick helps prevent kickback. It does this by applying downward pressure on the stock. The other safety element is the handle position that keeps your hand elevated above the blade.
