Project Information

I cut long thin piece of wood on by table saw so I need a good push stick that I could control the wood. This push stick is made from 1/2″ hardwood plywood and is about a 14″ long and 8″ wide (from the bottom to top of the handle) the front section is about 2 ¼". The heal has an adjustable hook that is 5/8" x 1/8". The handle has ¼" maple laminated on each side to make it more comfortable. The bottom of the push stick has sand paper glued to it. The angle of the handle help to applying downward pressure as well as pushing pressure. This push stick helps prevent kickback. It does this by applying downward pressure on the stock. The other safety element is the handle position that keeps your hand elevated above the blade.

I like it, nice job. I agree with Natalie. " Do you have a pattern you could post?"

Very nice. While my push stick works and has probably saved my right hand, it is not very comfortable. I have got to make one of these. Thanks for posting!

It's a must have, go to tool in all shops. It says a lot about someone when the time is taken to make the simple things nice.

Looks nice. I need to make one of these. All I use now is whatever piece of scrap wood is lying nearby.
