Walnut Box

This was made from a piece that had been laying around for awhile. Love the grain in it and the “box” itself came together fine but the lid took me 3 tries to get it just right. The 1st one the planer chewed up, the 2nd one I screwed up and the 3rd one is what it is….......done! LOL

The box measures 12L x 6W x 3H and is finished with danish oil. The dividers were an after thought. They turned out okay and can be easily removed. All in all, I am pleased with how it turned out. May still add a lift and/or clasp to it but then again, I will probably just LEAVE IT ALONE!!

Thanks for the looks and comments.

Very nice. Great hinge idea. Love that grain pattern.

Am I looking at the end grain of the Black Walnut, because it is just fabulous. You created a wonderful box.

Very nice! I love the grain on that walnut. Your hinges are right up my alley!

Are the hinges doweled to the lid?

Very nice arrangement of the grain, and I love the thin stock. I often think people use stock for boxes that is way too thick. How strong does a small box have to be. I think the thin stock is much more elegant.
