This is just a project from my 3d design class. It was fun to construct…Just dowels and screw eyes and button thread. For some reason, my prof didn’t want us to paint it until we had it together…I think he likes to see us struggle :P

Wow!

Is this sculpture self supporting! That must have been difficult to paint!

cool!!! I thought it was a funky trapeze for baby Koala bears…or a cool coat hanger for an octopus…

instead its JUST an innovative design that turned into a truly cool piece of art!!!

WELCOME TO LJ’s…

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

When I vacationed in Washington DC we visited the monument that had a sculpture like this. Well I spend a few hours to locate it on the net and did. So I build my own….I mean, I tried to build one. Its not easy to do, as you may know. I was trying to build a small one and your’s is very large (meaning number of tubes.) This was a time comsuming project and you did a great job and you should be proud.
Thanks for taking the time to share this project.

I love sculpture of any kind. That reminds me of my final project in college. I was late so my buddy and I took two boxes of coat hangers in when no one around on the weekend and started suspending them from the ceiling bending and hanging almost looking like a wind chime when we got done. I got a C+. I was amazed. Of course yours is nothing like the crap I threw together, I just got lucky. But art is everywhere in everything, I love it. Your piece is very beautiful. Welcome to LJs.

Very cool. I wish I had taken some art classes in college, but I didn’t. All that stuff looks sooooo fun.

Later, JM
