Hinged lathe tool holder

Simple 10 minute project that allows the tools to be close by and out of the way, just by opening the hinged part and letting the arm sit on a MDF leg. Not pretty but simple, effective and free.

When working on small pieces, near the headstock, I can keep the holder in the closed position. With longer pieces or when I need to lean in, I simply swing the arm out. Bob. May 4, 2013

If you notice my earlier post, the entire sheet of plywood is just hanging there on two bolts. When it’s cleaning or moving the lathe time, the tool holder lifts off, the wheels are dropped and the lathe is very easily moved.

Nice, Bob!
I really like the overall layout. Everything close by and visible!
