Beautiful bowl, Kerux. I like your foot also. It gives it a finished look. What kind of finish did you apply?
-- Depend on the rabbit's foot if you will, but remember it didn't work for the rabbit.

Absolutely beautiful.
The wood is spectacular, and the work is nothing short of that.

That’s really nice. Did you use salad bowl oil for finish?

Finish is just two coats of Shellac and a Carnuba Wax Buffing. I didn’t use salad bowl finish because I don’t think it should be used as an eating bowl… spalting and all that .
Any better ideas on a good finish for spalting, please let me know. I’ve got a bunch more of this stuff to turn.

Hey Kerux this is a lot different then pen turning. Very pretty turning at that. I’ve used Waterlox Original on my bowls many times and it really brings grain out. I’m with you on spalted bowls and using them as eating utensils. I had an allergic reaction to spalting a year or so ago and it really has made me careful around wood of any kind, but especially spalted wood. Nice job nice foot too.

Great looking bowl Kerux! Beutiful wood and grain. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but I was wondering about it’s dimensions.
