I wanted to make a free standing chopping block from Bubinga offcuts I had, that otherwise would have probably found their way into my wood stove. The top is end grain bubinga and the stand is European Spruce, stained white to fit the kitchen cabinets. The back legs are fitted with wheels and a stainless handle so it can be wheelbarrowed around. I built a small drawer in the front for the steak knives and slotted both sides to accomodate the cleavers and long knives. This was not a particularly difficult project but laminating and squaring the block itself took quite a bit of time.

Very nice looking… wouldn’t want to go running around that corner too close.

Nice! Is the block attached to the table, or just sitting on it?

That’s one handsome and serious chopping station! A great and functional add on to the kitchen.
