This is another very custom build. We had been wanting a fireplace for many years, but our living room was very small and did not have good access to an outside wall for venting. We did find a new version of an electric fire place that looked pretty good and included a heater. We decided that the only place for it to go would be where the current TV stand was. So we combined the TV stand and the fire place. The top panel opens to reveal the Tivo and DVD Player. The Apple TV sits on top because it is so good looking. I am using an IR repeater to get the remote signals into the cabinet. The panels are made from 3/4” ash and the top is 1 1/2” ash. It has a clear Polyurethane water based finish.

Nice Job!

I like that you have combined TV/DVD into one unit. Wish I had thought of that when I built ours.

Beautiful idea, use of woods and combination. Tired of watching the tube watch the fire crackle in the dim light. How romantic and neat. Fire watching has a way of taking us back to our primal days or something inate in us. Very nice.
