Band saw Table

Here is a table I built for my band saw – It’s not an original idea but I needed more room to cut and trim bowl blanks but still wanted to use my band saw for other projects, so I made the fence on the left side and drilled holes on the right side for bowls. I used a nail, filed both ends sharp, so the bowl blank (log) will fit on the pin and I can turn the log into a round blank – or and other flat wood. The fence is from hard maple, the table is 3/4” melamine. So far so good, everything has worked great, cut several blanks. Thanks

Nice design – is there any support for the overhanging end (like legs)? with the location of that miter track, the first log you put on that thing it might snap in half.

This will be very useful I am sure – thanks for sharing!

Yes, sorry forgot to mention – the under side is supported across the original table – I have cut several logs on it and it has not flexed at all. The first one I made was 1/2” melamine and it did flex, never broke but made me think about it! So I went with 3/4” and supported it underneath. Thanks

Really cool! I might have to add one of these to my Band Saw.

Nice! Can you post a pic of the underside to see how you supported it? Would greatly appreciate it.

Bytesabit – never looked at the sign in the background, your post just gave me the best chuckle!! Still laughing – thinking of Organ Doctor… It is a sign that my father in law used to advertise his contractor business in Idaho back in the 70’s. He built custom homes and office buildings in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. He probably could have been an organ donor, if it paid good, he would have done it!! Ha, ha… just had to know him!! Please shoot a picture if you build one… already been thinking of new ideas to do to it..

Was this your idea or a plan you purchased online? By the way, very nicely done!
