This chest of drawers was one of the first pieces of furniture that I ever made. I made it for my first son’s nursary over ten years ago. Like most of us the first pieces of furniture are build from plans from the New Yankee Workshop and this chest is no exception. I studied the plans for weeks before I got the courage up to dive in. This was my first experience with all hardwood, the use of machined dovetails, and hand finishing. I am very proud of the fact that after ten years it is still in perfect condition with no splits or cracks even after a move from Texas to Wisconsin.

Nice. I like the simplicity and the natural finish.

That’s fine job for sure.
Looks very good, even after the move.
