Meditation stools / seiza benches
wood, meditation and love

This post comes from my Meditation stools blog .

In this blog I turn an old roof rafter and a piece of wood from a cradle into two meditation stools.
This project starts by me meeting a wonderful woman and ending up in love with a chair for each of us.

Pictures:
1. The meditation stool.
2. Starting with an old roof rafter.
3. Boat builders adze in action.
4. Parting the chars.
5. Making the hidden tenons.
6. The architect and Line meditating on love.

Hope this can bring some inspiration, who knows, perhaps even meditation or love.

Best thoughts,

MaFe

Excelent! Nice design and good job. We we were using a similar, slightly higher when cows milked by hand. It was not a good time for meditation, though.
It looks comfortable.
Smiles!

Hi guys,
Big smile here!
Joe, I was thinking I needed to share this moment with all of you, sweat was running down my head as you can see on the tshirt, so I put on my Japanese headband and felt for a moment like in a Karate Kid movie – lol.
Mauricio, thanks.
DaddyZ, She saw the comments and she agreed with you, so I smile big time.
Ken, and best wishes back.
Mike, this I second, and enjoy.
Ian, smiles here, full of it.
Jamie, when this comes from you, I am feeling blessed.
Philip, so to you.
Paul, peace and happiness back my friend.
Topa, the model for you could be a barstool… Meditation over a cold beer. ;-)
Grado, laughs here, I gues pulling a cows tits, are not a moment of zen, at least after hours of doing it.
David, yes I feel lucky, guess life is like this, circles, and when we feel lost, it smiles unexpected back to us.
Jim, I could not agree more, acually the last part was the reason why I got started on the stools, so I guess it is a full circle of love. ;-)
Lew, smiles here.
Thak you all of you, for the comments, they fill me up with even more joy.
Best thoughts,
Mads
