Awesome sound! What is the pipe made of- what kind of conduit….and how did you cut it?

Thank you :) ..... The big one is made of 1” OD…. EMT steel conduit.. I cut them with a tube cutter or also called a pipe cutter. Do not DO NOT use a hack saw …. The conduit was about $6 for a ten foot stick… The smaller ones are made of the same just at 1/2” OD … The thicker the wall the richer the sound.. If you have anymore questions send me a message :) I’ll help ya out

Thanks for the tip! I definitely want to try this. Lots of wood scraps that I can’t seem to get rid of….they will maybe finally come in handy!

I have made 3 so far but I am goting to make another on my next day off from work…or next night off I should say haha :) I am working on a new design on how to make it . I’m going to get a bigger OD pipe and a thicker wall but still going to use steel .. I am going to put the striker on the inside of each pipe and that should give a louder and more rich sound …. I will post it when I have it finished….. It will most likely be around Monday or Tuesday

Pretty and cool wind chimes! Great use of scraps and a great addition to the front door or yard.

Have your say...
