Live edge side table

A farmer friend in Iowa cut and milled several hundred board feet of black walnut from his property and sold it to me. It broke my heart to waste even a knotted and fissured piece so I decided to celebrate nature’s perfect imperfections instead. Rather than trying to hide or cut around the knots and fissures, I highlight them with metal or stone fill. I have received several orders for customized pieces from people who live viewed this one.

I love your love for wood. Me too. So nice to have such great stash of walnut, and I love the mix of the rough lumber and cultured legs.

Gorgeous side table! Love the live edge and the inlays, has lots of character and it complements the beautiful legs. Great job!

I really like this. There are some nice contrasting concepts in it.
