Walking Stick

My most resent project was to hand carve a walking stick that my step-brother found while hiking in a local Indiana State Park. He knew I have been carving lately so he wanted to see what I can do with it. Wood Spirits have been one of my most favorite carving stick features, so I made my first attempt. I wish I would have used some alternate colors and maybe carved a few more features. But overall I’m pleased. I yet to include leather strap through the cross hole. I will include later. I’m not sure what type of wood this is, but during the carving process I saw some hints of walnut.

Tom,

Well done and just in time. With a few warm nights ahead our Morel Mushrooms should be poppin’ up and you can take your new Wood Spirit stick for a test drive.

Best Regards. Len

Thanks for all the great comments. This was a fun project. Like I said before there are some things I wished I would have done different, but as GrandpaLen says..Mushroom hunting might be a good way to break it in?
