This project was constructed in 1973 and is made of solid Mahogany. The Mahogany was $150 a 1000 at the time. I built a series of Mahogany projects over the few years and the price double for each project. All construction was tongue and grooved or dowels with No screws anywhere. The finish was 3 coats of shellac and 3 coats of varnish after a coat of light oak wood stain to reduce some of the red. The project also consisted of a similar unit to the left that serves as a bookcase and the system is still in use today, 40 years later.

That definitely has heirloom quality. Great design and great build on that fantastic and functional project.
