The table is from a style I saw by George Hepplewhite who was a furniture builder from England during the same era as Chippendale. It’s made from genuine mahogany and Birdseye maple. I used a sanding sealer, one layer of GF merlot water-based stain and three layers of brown mahogany gel stain then 4 coats of Arm-R-Seal. The maple is stained with 4 layers of GF amber stain. The drawer is 3/4 maple and 1/4 maple for the bottom. The drawer is on traditional wood runners. I made a jig from Fine Woodworking for the tapered legs. By the way, I purchased the DVD of all the Fine Woodworking Magazines on sale for $99. Man, what a deal! I have used many ideas from the DVD already. Well worth the $ in my opinion.

Great looking table. I like the bird eye maple drawer, it adds a nice touch. I agree the FWW back issues DVD is a great resource.
