Baby rattle for neighbor’s baby. Alternating squares of walnut and maple glued up and turned. 1/4” steel balls for rattle sound.
Finish is mineral oil. 3 and 1/2 inches long. Diameter is 1.98” which exceeds federal non-choking size limits. Comments welcome.

That is awesome, I was just thinking about making one for a friend’s new child. You put the balls in before the turning I am guessing?
