I just finished up a Cedar Bar top for one of my repeat customers. 6’ X 17” wide X 2 1/2” thick. I used some liquid glass for the first time & wow is that stuff really cool!

FANBLOODYTASTIC, That is sssoooo cool, I love it.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

One of a kind piece, that’s for sure.
That grain looks like a red tornado !
And that liquid glass is certainly something I want to remember.
Really nice job Todd !

Beautiful piece of wood! What a great opportunity to teach your customer about how this tree grew. You can give them a tour of its entire life!

What did you use to finish the underside?

That’s a beautiful cedar slab! “liquid glass”? Need more info on this beautiful finish. Looks like epoxy? Pour on?

Thanks for all your kind words & compliments, I think this was some of my best work to date. I am adding a photo of the box for the finish I used, it’s not named liquid glass, but that’s what it’s like to me lol.

I bought the finish at Ace Hardware store, they just opened a new one only 20 miles away, vs going to Lowe’s or Home depot witch is 62 miles away. Yea you can say I live in the sticks, that 32oz kit was $35.42 after tax. That whole box did this top. I hope the info was helpful. Thanks
