By way of introduction, here is a picture of my cluttered shop. I swear I know where everything is. Since this photo was taken, a mini-lathe has been added in, and the tablesaw cover in the foreground is covered over with turning paraphernalia. I’m hoping the new PWW Greene & Greene table contest will remedy that shortcoming! Thank you to your organizers for originating this contest. -BarbS

It does not look very cluttered Barbs, but it is nicely equipped. Welcome Aboard.

I wouldn’t say “cluttered” – I’d call it well stocked! It appears to be very organized, from my point of view. It’s quite the shop. Definitely “wonderland”.

Lol – My shop is cluttered. This looks like an operating room.

If it ain’t cluttered, you don’t have enough tools!

Cluttered with good tools. Your shop floor is too clean!

Cluttered? I see too many clear surfaces, and all that walking room. I’d get on-line, as quickly as you can, and see what tools you could buy to protect all that emply space.

Are guys just messier than women woodworkers? You guys talk as if you can’t even move through your shops, and Michael (Obi), where do you assemble anything?? I’m forever lamenting not having room for a proper assembly table. I have to lay a hollow core door across sawhorses and inch my way around the set up.

Drew- Setting up is the fun part! I’ve redone my shop twice now, and it is easy to get carried away with it, and avoid building anything. Your shop will be beautiful, even though all that empty space will fill up quickly. I look forward to more photos of it when it is full.

At last another clean and organised shop. Ignore the comments about dirty floors as dirty floors are dangerous floors.

Shops are for working in, not for eating your dinner off the floor. Looks great to me! Good luck with the table contest.

Thank you PanamaJack. That’s about as clean as my shop has ever been. It feels cluttered to me because the walls are packed, all storage is packed in, and there are no more options! I have to make do with what I have.

No, actually, it is doubled now in size! I don’t have a photo of the current set up, but the car was evicted from the left side of the garage, and I was able to move some large equipment to that side, including tablesaw cabinet, floor drill press and planer and jointer. Now I’m frustrated by having to walk so far around it all to get to different things I need! Just never happy…..

Hey Barbs
It’s not cluttered just overly appointed for the amount of floor space you have ,looks good to me. I have the same problem but my shop is not as well organised as your shop.

it is only ‘neat’ because I take the leaf blower to it once or twice a year. I often forget, though, to close up magazines sitting out, and weigh down the notepapers. Big mess and Barb chasing paper out the front doors.

Okay, I took pix of the moved-over shop for those interested.
Here’s the left side;

the right side:

and the front view:

I haven’t really planned the space yet. I will need to rearrange hand tool storage and reorganize the space, but for now I’m walking back and forth between the two sides to get a few Christmas projects going. It is Really nice to have the space to play with, though.
Thank you for all your comments.
