Half Shelf

So in typical NYC apartment needs for expanding space where there is none, my friend asked me to make him a shelf that could fit onto his window sill, but give him greater depth than the current sill allowed. A fairly basic project, in that it just need the top surface, and support base for the extended depth.

Nothing too fancy, just pine all around. The top is two boards tongue-and-grooved together, with decorative bow-tie’s of oak spanning the joint. I have never tried bow-ties before, and you can see my chisel work definitely needs improvement but it was fun to cut for the first time. Poly finish. Thanks for looking!

Great idea! Looks really good, like the bowties and the finish is flawless. Great job!
