I was asked to make a replica workcage for a maintenance instructor who is leaving in May. It was really fun to build but a PITA to stain. I built the workcage, which is the darker part, first and made little quick release pins so the top part comes off like on the real one. The platform it sits on has dados cut into it for a coinrack. The workcage basket is what maintainers use to move up and down inside an ICBM launch tube.
