I needed a book case at work. Looked through many catalogs of office furniture, didn’t see any that I liked. They all kind of had that dreary look to them (those that work in a cubicle might understand what I’m trying to say). I needed something that would fit on my desk and fit all the books that I like to keep handy. So I made my own out of some Cherry and 3/4” plywood. I do a lot of work with springs so I decided to pay homage to them with the carved spring dividers on the top shelf (one of the pics has a close up). The guys at work wondered why I’d make something so nice for work, I just reminded them of all the time spent at work, why wouldn’t I build it?

simple face frame, kreg pocket screws, couple coats of sprayed on shellac.

Nice, very nice. The carved spring dividers are super, nice touch. Let your co-workers turn green with envy.

Pretty and well made bookcase with a twist. Great design and choice of wood. Outstanding work!
