So, all my projects start with, “BABE!!!!! Do you want…” (fill in the blank)...” So this time, “BABE!!! Do you want a coat rack?!” She said yes, haha. So the top is 1 3/4”, and I made all the outside facing edges the same. The back panel is floating, and it’s all cedar! I finished it with double boiled linseed oil – oh, by the way…freakin’ love the linseed oil. It really makes the natural color of the wood pop, as well as the grain! I loved all the knots, so I tried to make them a feature here. It’s just too bad the you can’t see that one side, since it’s almost tight against the wall. I also added two walnut plugs (first time doing that, took me longer than I wanted it too, but I got it done!) – those are the only two screws in the whole thing. Actually, since all the wood was free, the most expensive part was buying the hooks – ALMOST 30 STINKING DOLLARS! What the heck, haha?!? Anyways, loved it…now hopefully I can get that table I’ve wanted to do for so long, started this weekend.
