Welcome to LJ’s. This is a great place to learn, talk and read about woodworking. If you’ve got a question there are some incredibly knowledgeable people here willing to answer. Interesting re-use of the spool.

Heck yah for the recycled wood. I recycled a spool into a lampstand/endtable, and it came out great. Keep showin’ us the projects.

I like the color too. It doesn’t look like pine, more like cypress or something.

as a kid, I’d have spent hours looking at the pictures in the grain while I was supposed to be sleeping… who am I kidding, I still would be. Nice salvage!

An awesome looking chest, & a great use of an old cable spool.

Wow, that really turned out great. Would have never thought of using that, and I know right where I can get one. My brother just came across one.
