Had an old sauder computer desk I pulled out of the trash in college. Used it for around 10 years and finally decided to upgrade it.
All I did was use the existing pieces for a template and made lots of glue ups.
All the boards are hardwood barn boards. All very different and unique.
Glue ups are all biscuit joined together.
The top is wormy barn boards for a different look. The remainder of barn boards are whatever looked good.

Beautiful wood, great save on all counts.

Your wood has beautiful grains and the finish sets it off. Great job on that good looking desk!

You demonstrate a great idea a lot of us should consider. Everyone has or can easily get crapped laminate+particle board furniture that has fine metal hardware. Just rebuild it with real wood. Of course you reclaimed that, too. Think of how much great stuff is sitting beside your local apartment dumpsters.

Have your say...
