First Attempt with the Scroll Saw

I started into the woodworking game in January, and I’m hooked! Here’s my first attempt with my new Porter Cable scroll saw. It’s a Buckmark that I made for a friend that works for Browning. Not sure of the wood type, it was a piece that I found in the shed at the cabin. There’s no finish on this piece, just sanded down to 1000. I thought any finishing would take away from the aged, rough cut base. The base and top were cut from the same board that was originally milled about 15 years ago by a family member that runs a sawmill.

Edit, I’m not sure why my pics are posting sideways. They are correct when I upload them. Maybe it has to do with posting from an iPhone.

Nice first piece.
Ditto to Chris.

Great job! I think you will find scroll sawing to be a great hobby. I truly enjoy it myself. Took some time off during winter (cold garage). Got back at the saw last weekend. Boy did I miss it.
