After browsing all the wonderful projects on here, i was inspired to begin making some of my own tools. I thought I would begin with something novice. Just a simple glue up of some maple I had laying around. Placing the handle and then drilling holes on my press and tapping dowels into the head. I also angled the strike surface for ergonomics. Nothing spectacular, but functional. My next attempt will be a plane I think. Thanks for looking.

Nice and functional, it is on my list of “things” I want to make.
Just a suggestion but the pics are a little fuzzy, do you have a Macro setting on the camera?

Mallets give pleasure in so many ways.
First the pleasure of making them.
Then the pleasure of beating the tar out of something with them.

Nice work….. I recently made a couple of my own. I like to see the different approaches to making the same tool.
