Scored some pretty slabs of Linde ( I think it’s called Basswood in English ) during my last wood run. Cut down a little piece and wootled a chain to see how it’s consistency was…sweet! Before I could finish polishing it up my wife found it and made a keychain out of it.
Thanks for looking.

Nice job! This takes some time and thought I’m sure.

This reminds me of a family story. When my grandfather stated working at a place called Keyes Fiber years ago, they gave him some menial jobs that did not take long. In his down time, he whipped up one of these wooden chains. The supervisor came back and was so impressed they trained and made him a pattern maker!

Nice job, especially if your wife already claimed it.

Nice work, looks fun and time consuming. Blackbear: Sadly, in this day and age, you grandfather would have probably been fired. Companies don’t recognize talent like they used to.

Nice links. I tried a few chains from pine but they all ended up as smoke.

Wow! Awesome work on that wooden chain. You got some talent and skills and whole lot of patience.
